Which is the Right Microwave For You?
The most important thing to consider when deciding on a microwave oven is the space required and location, important for easy access! There are two types of microwave ovens, “conventional” and "convection".
Conventional Microwave OvensAre very easy to install and can simply sit on a bench or cabinet. The selection is diverse from basic features to sophisticated models having a variety of cooking and reheating sensors.
Convection Microwave OvensConvection ovens are more diverse with better cooking functionality. Allowing you to microwave, bake and roast by combining the features of a convection oven with those of a microwave. Importantly, convection Microwave ovens need adequate ventilation.
Size and SpeedMicrowave ovens come in a variety of sizes and generally range between 20 and 44 litres. Larger Microwave ovens are usually more power ranging from 600 watts to 1300 watts.

Glossary
Auto Defrost
Automatically defrosts meat, poultry by entering the weight and calculating the time required.
Auto Cook
Choose from the present menu of foods like rice then the serving size, with the suitable cooking time and power level automatically selected by the microwave oven.
Auto Reheat
Reheat food with the Auto Reheat button.
Capacity
Is the internal size of the microwave cavity, determines the size Pyrex or other dishes that can be used.
Child-Lock Out
A feature on some Microwave oven that allows you to lock the control pad most child-locks require a pass code or touch command to be disabled.
Convenience Cooking Control
Only available on selected models that support pre-programmed common foods like vegetables, jacket potatoes, casseroles, popcorn and more. Similar to Auto Cook
Convection Microwave Ovens
Have built in heating elements in conjunction with microwaves to shorten cooking time.
Conventional Microwave Ovens
Uses microwave energy to cook, reheat and defrost food.
Cooking Power
Cooking power is measured in watts that usually ranges from 600 to 1300 watts between brands.
Instant Cook or Quick Minute
Set cooking times in increments of one, ten or 60 minutes using one touch.
